Business Advisory Services
Environmental protection, education and the preservation of civilization have long raced tirelessly against commercial development in Huadong, and commercial development has overwhelmingly taken the front seat. This trend can be overturned only if we can expeditiously demonstrate to the government alternative ways to develop the region. Therefore, Alliance has undertaken a number of economic development initiatives as an alternative to massive commercial development in Huadong. Alliance aims to help the government to understand the ecological and the cultural impact of unchecked commercial development in the region.
Since 2011, Alliance has provided advisory services to a number of indigenous businesses including Pakelang B&B, Sanxiantai Bixilian Village, and Luanshan Forest Museum. Alliance has ongoing dialogues with these tribes and has in-depth understanding of their issues and concerns, including those pertaining to the lack of education and economic resources for many aborigine families.
Pakelang B&B is the focus of Taiwan Ministry of Tourism’s “Eastern Taiwan International Tourism” Project. Alliance and Lovely Taiwan Foundation jointly contributed their services to help Pakelang B&B create its unique tribal cuisine and renovate its bed-and-breakfast facility. The objective was to increase tourist visits and stimulate the local economy.
Sanxiantai Bixilian initiative started with the training of a youth drum corps which helped to revitalize the tribe; a live stage for performing arts was created subsequently. The initiative also successfully brought in government funding to nurture local talent. For the Luanshan Forest Museum project, Alliance helped a private tribal enterprise to establish its experiential tourism business, thereby attracting visitors to the rainforest reserve.
Alliance seeks to identify and utilize unique tribal assets and resources to develop business opportunities and create jobs. Alliance believes the distinctive characteristics of the indigenous cuisine, art and music and the region’s natural beauty are crucial for the development of a sustainable local economy for years to come.
