ANZ Bank “Splatter the Colors” Youth Art Gallery
In the summer of 2010, Alliance organized the “Huadong Youth Art Camp” to promote Huadong youth’s artistic talents. During the camp, Amis artist Yosifu who was born in Hualien but currently living in Edinburgh, was invited to be a guest instructor to help the children explore their creative power. Yosifu told the young people from Huadong ,who had never taken formal art lessons, that painting was not difficult, the important thing is to draw one’s own life experience and feeling. Under Mr. Yo’s guidance, the students used only a few basic colors to express the simplest things in their minds and portray their most basic feelings.
ANZ Bank saw the dazzling paintings and understood the creative power represented in each painting. They exhibited the works of the students from the Art Camp at ANZ’s outdoor gallery from October 2010 to October 2011. This exhibition gave Huadong youth a stage for their creative expressions and served as a tangible result of Alliance’s efforts in organizing the Art Camp.
ANZ also printed the paintings in promotional brochures and newsletters sent to hundreds of thousands of customers in the interest of sharing with them the fine art work created by Huadong youth under guidance from the accomplished artist Yosifu.
